Question

#Sedum
I was gifted this succulent and made the mistake of letting my son take it into his room 🙃 long story short I've been attempting to revive it. Today I noticed it looked this way. Is this new leaves or something else I am not succulent savvy AT ALL!!
2ft to light, indirect
3” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
It looks like it may be new leaves, them being very pale could indicate it needs more light or there’s some watering issues happening.

Since you’re not too sure about succulents, I can offer some general succulent care tips because they do have some special requirements:

☀️ They love lots of nice bright light! They can be kept inside in a sunny window or outside, but be careful of too much direct light as this can burn them. It’s best to slowly acclimate them to the brighter light to avoid burning. Grow lights can work fine as long as they offer a strong light. Signs of too much light would be burn marks/super red marks, but some color change is good like light reds and orange or pinks and purples, dark greens to show good light amount.

💦 Succulents are great because they can go weeks without water, depending on the size of its pot and roots. Usually they can be watered deeply once every 2-3 weeks. Many succulents will show signs of thirst with their leaves, they’ll become wrinkled so it’s a nice indication, but water them deeply when the soil is BONE dry. I like to put them in a tub of water and let them soak up the water for a while (and I gently pour some water into the top soil as they soak), but be sure to avoid getting water on the leaves as this can cause mildew. They need to be somewhere sunny and with good air circulation to avoid rot. Signs of overwatering would be plump/soggy/droopy leaves that fall off easily and are yellowing/translucent.

🪴Their pot needs drainage holes and the soil needs to be made for succulents/cacti, which means it’ll have rocks, perlite, sand… etc. in it to maximize the drainage abilities. They should *not* be kept in regular house or garden soil.

I forgot to mention, it also looks like some type of anacampseros and not a golden sedum! (:
