How fast do cacti grow?

I know it’s coming into winter now so naturally things will definitely slow down quite a lot, but I’ve had this lil #MammillariaHaageana for a few months now, and I don’t think he’s growing all that much. He’s got quite a large root system for his size which is why he’s in such a bigger pot than his #BlueColumnarCactus brother, but I’m just a tad concerned that he doesn’t seem to be growing at all.

Any thoughts?

Hi. I have a similar cactus which started out slowly too. I gave it a few drops of succulent food and it started thriving a few weeks later. Maybe you could source a bottle from your plant store and give it a try. Follow the care instructions on the bottle. All the best!
@JollyLillypilly thanks! I’ll give that a go
They do start out slow. Once you get it going they move along nicely. Cactus are slow growers. But very rewarding.
It's probably spending its energy on that lovely root system. I love what you named it btw lol.
@FairyFly thanks haha! His brother is tweedle dum lmao
Lol I love it!
That's actually a good sign! Cacti are supposed to grow slowly.
@SimpleSucc ahh yeah that’s fair. Do you know why? Or is it one of those things that just is haha
Sorry, I only know how fast they die in my care.
@GaryPoopins oh that is so relatable πŸ’€
@PiousWaterfern idk why... they just do that lol
