Does anyone know what is wrong here

I just picked up this plant a couple weeks ago and I have no idea where theses spots came from. Thoughts?

Hey! I’m sorry this is happening to your Alocasia. The dark brown / black areas surrounded by yellow indicate some sort of fungal bacteria..

I’d recommend removing the entire plant from the pot, clean off the roots & remove (gently) any mushy or grey roots as this is root rot. You’ll want to take note of any orange colored roots as well which indicates fungal issues.. both root rot and fungal issues can be resolved with spraying diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide spray on the roots to aid in drying them out. You’ll want to repot into fresh, chunky soil with good drainage as well. You can trim back any of the yellowing edges or wait for those leaves to fall off. Arbor BioFungicide is a great option as well, just most people don’t have that laying around the house so that’s why I recommend hydrogen peroxide spray. I hope this helps & dont hesitate to tag me if you have other questions 😇
