Need help πŸ₯Ή

My plant has been loosing a lot of leaves lately and from what I read just now, it could be because of lack of direct sunlight. However, something i noticed before this, it’s that the top of the soil looks moldy. Should I worry about that? Do i meed to change the soil or is normal? Thank you

Definently change it. Removing the soil will help your home and your plant a ton.
It seems like the soil is staying too wet- I would try bottom watering it for now and less frequently and see how it does! What does the top of the soil look like?
@Cjpeters26 i just got it like 2 months ago, and today is second time I watered it. First time i did bottom watering but after that, i noticed the problem with the soil so today i watered it from the top. I do not have a clear photo now as it is wet but it’s looking exactly like mold when dry.
@HandyLagunaria that soil looks fine to me based off the picture! If you notice it growing I’d give it a little spray of hydrogen peroxide (only on the soil, not the plant itself). Regarding the wet soil, it definitely could be staying moist for too long due to not getting enough direct sunlight as you stated. I’d give it a boost of light with a grow light and see how she does!
