Am I too far gone?
I brought this sad #HedgeCactus home from our office, where it was very sad, in hopes to revive it. When I repotted it, I noticed it had no major roots, just little nubbins. I put it in some succulent soil and gave it plant food, but since then it has begun shriveling and yellowing. I was hoping I might save it enough for a pup, but am worried it is too far gone π’ any words of wisdom? Iβm not as familiar with cacti as I am other plants. #plantrescue

Most cacti are super easy to propagate if it ends up that it is unsalvageable. One tip for cacti are that most need very little water, but do benefit from water in the growing season especially. If the cactus has no roots, you can either propagate it or let the soil dry out so that the roots search for water. Then, I would give the soil a good watering after a few weeks. However, if you feel that the cactus wonβt survive this long, you might just want to propagate if the species is able to. It could also be rot which would be a whole different story. However I am more familiar with ball shaped cacti. Good luck ππΌ
