Help!! I accidentally left my air plants in water overnight!

Question

The leaves are mushy and brown and how do I save them from rot????? They’ve been floating in water for more than 12 hours! #AirPlant #Tillansia #MedusaHeadAirPlant #blushingbrideairplant #overwatering

Hi Alison, I wouldn’t worry too much. I would just recommend that you let these dry out for a couple of weeks and hopefully they will bounce back to normal.

I’ve done this before and after a few weeks they tried back to its usual self.

I know of two options, try drying it out by submerging in only perlite for a few hours until its dry from the bottom or hang them outside upside down but unfortunately theres a chance they still may not make it

@Fireplace yes and ensure that they are getting good air circulation and maybe some sunlight 2 to try and dry them out a bit.

I would put a fan on them… If it’s warm where you are it them in some warm shade put them upside down so@moisture doesn’t settle in the bottom.

I don’t know much about air plants but I think if you pluck off the rotten leaves and let them dry out for a few days in bright indirect light away from direct sun we all forget to do stuff
