#Dracaena
It’s just scarring. Happens a lot with snake plant. This isn’t a Dracaena. It will be fine.
It's purely aesthetic, it will callus and turn brown around the split and the rest of the leaf will be just fine. I have one that is one of the biggest in that plant with am old split down the bottom third!! I bought it like that and its produced numerous new shoots still. Snake plants are prone to splits and brown calluses forming on their leaves for some reason.
@JocoseApplemoss so even if it keeps growing into the above leaf it won’t split more? Because that’s what caused the initial split :/
@SuperangelFicus it shouldn't no, it could buy it will be fine either way it will just depend on what it wants to do as it grows if the scarred callous is fully formed before it grows anymore it should stop there. You could also cut that leaf if you don't like it and water or soil propogate it into whole new plants that's the beautiful thing of these plants
Here's 2 good shoots with large splits that are close or over 2 feet
@bigshe64 Snake plants were reclassified into the Dracaena genus recently. πŸ™‚
