Very sparse branches

#ElephantBush I let my husband take my lil plant to his office for some greenery and he is SO sad that she looks like this (me too for that matter.)

He’s bringing her home and I’m going to put her near a window that gets a lot of light during the day but is there anything else I can do to help?

I potted her with new soil about a year ago and she only get water about every 2 weeks.
Last watered 2 weeks ago
Oh no, that's a bummer! It sounds like your Elephant Bush might be a bit stressed. Here are a few things you can try to help it recover:
* Check the Roots: Gently remove the plant from the pot and inspect the roots. If they are mushy or black, it could be a sign of root rot. In this case, remove any damaged roots and repot the plant in fresh, well-draining cactus or succulent soil.
* Adjust Watering: Elephant Bush are succulents and prefer their soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
* Provide Enough Light: Elephant Bush need bright, indirect light. Make sure your plant is getting enough light, but avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
* Be Patient: It may take some time for your Elephant Bush to recover. Don't give up on it! With proper care, it should start to grow new branches and leaves.
Good luck!
@MightyRockfig does your pot have drainage? If not, that might be a bigger part of the issue.
Is that succulent soil? It looks a little too organic. If it’s not succulent soil, make sure to repot it into some soil that is specifically made for succulents and cacti. It’ll have rocks and perlite and stuff like that to make it gritty and drain well.

Regular houseplant soil holds too much moisture for too long and overwaters succulents.
I’m over here taking screenshots because my elephant bush is equally unrewarding, and I’ve done all that. Hasn’t gotten worse, but really I’m about to change its name again. It was tree diddy, then cage the elephant, and it’s quickly earning the nickname β€œmeh”
I feel your despair. I am not having much luck with mine.
