8β pot with drainage

Last watered 10 months ago
@DevilishDark Hi Sylvester. I would suggest you reduce the amount of direct sunlight itβs getting. #SucculentSquad
@DevilishDark ok let's start over. First, are you sure it needs to be in an 8" pot? That might be too big which would make over-watering easy to do. If it's overwatered, the soil stays wet and so do the roots and they rot and die. Of course then the plant can't get the water it needs so it shrivels up. I'd start with taking it out of the pot and check the roots and the soil at the roots level and see if it's still wet.
Next, the soil it's in looks like it needs some help. Succulents have to have a well draining soil so it doesn't sit in wet soil all the time (which comes back to over-watering).
So, plan of action.... Start with taking it out of it's current pot and checking the roots. Any black and mushy ones are rotten and need to be removed. That means you'll need a smaller pot. You want the roots to only have about an inch of space between them and the inside of the pot. Fill with fresh succulent soil or if you don't have any and can't get any add plenty of perlite to regular soil to help with drainage and aeration. Whatever new pot you use must have drainage holes as well. After you've repotted it, hold off on watering for several days to a week. It needs time to adjust to it's new home and the shock from removing some roots if needed. Plus you want to give the roots that are left time to dry out some. Then water only when the soil is dry and water it enough until it's coming out of the drainage holes in the pot, ensuring it's not still sitting in the water that ran out.
Hope I explained everything well enough π«€ keep me posted! Good luck π
