A quick Google search says it's an annual vine in the gourd family, but the fruit it produces aren't edible. It's considered a weed in most places because it grows aggressively and can become difficult to manage, so it's best to use control methods early when they're young. A combination of pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides is recommended.
@stephonicle I’m going to hire someone to come in and get rid of all of it even dig up the roots if at all possible because it’s taken over the waterfall and getting into the walking stick tree that we planted 11 years ago and it’s grown from 2’ to 7’ and if it wasn’t trimmed each fall it would be so wife we couldn’t see the fall or get around to the fence line on the other side.
