Croton ID

What kind of croton did my daughter bring home? #plantid #croton #plantsmakepeoplehappy #happyplants #plantaddict
2ft to light, direct
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
I have a Croton Mammy and while yours is similar it’s not a mammy. Both My google lens search and my other plant identification app identify it as a Garden Croton.
It looks like my Red Banana Codiaeum
@Shells_Garden my ID stuff keep saying garden croton too, but they have the wide rootball-shaped leaves. Then again, 'curly boy' is on my short list of possibilities. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ It's leaves are skinnier than a Mammy, so I think you are right about that. It does look similar to @TopMonoceritos's Red Banana..
Kinda looks like my β€œbush on fire” I don’t know the technical name
@LiftLashPlant that was the closest ID I could find for it. Mine has more green/yellow leaves, but that could just be differences in sunlight.
Mine has been dropping some leaves so I popped them in water tonight and am hoping to propagate
