#WhatTheSuccWednesday #GregGang #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #Succulents #Cacti #NewGrowth Happy Hump day! Hereβs what happened last week! More cacti arrived yeah! Finally found the appropriate pot for the Mammillaria Elongata, I am particularly excited about this, the newest acquisition the Euphorbia japonica. The Agave Lophantha Splendida has great colors. The next Old man cactus continues to grow, both he and the Old woman cactus completely ignoring Winter (wish I could) Come Spring they will get re-potted into terracotta pots, since both are still in the original pots they came in. That was September 2022 the old man, and July 2023 the Old woman. Thereβs more in comments below!π
#WhatTheSuccWednesday #GregGang #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #Succulents #Cacti #NewGrowth The first one in the follow up post is the Madagascar Ocatillo, or Alluadia Procera it is also a recent acquisition. They always arrive bare roots, without a pot and are potted up immediately upon receipt. Thatβs why I get excited when I see new growth! Next is the Echinocereus pentalophus, the Lady Finger cactus and its descendants New growth is also being exhibited by the African Milk tree Rubra. And continuing to bloom is as always the Crown of Thorns. The plant that is giving me the most pause is the Sansevieria Starfish Boncel it has been growing ever since it arrived. I have been debating whether to re-pot it now or wait until Spring. And of course itβs not just the re-potting, The offspring will need to become independent and get their own pots The sterilized scalpels are due to arrive later today and re-potting/operating can begin π±π°π¨! Thatβs all for now enjoy the rest of the week and stay safe!
Loving the plants this week! Mine are doing a lot better now that it isn't the Arctic outside. My mystery Pachyphytum is in bloom! The flowers are so pretty!! My Pachyphytum 'Margrit' is also blooming and is truly gorgeous. Also featured are my Graptoveria 'Opalina' and Echeveria lilacina; the pinks on them are ππ©·π₯
Uncle Fester was part of a 3 for $12 at the big box, pot was thrifted!
The fishhook pincushion (Mammillaria Bombycina) always reminds me of my grandma. Growing up, I spent my summers at her house. It was up on the Mogollon rim in Arizona at approximately 5600 ft where these grow among the shaggy cedar and red dirt.
My grandma had 14 acres, a handful of farm animals, and a 1/4 acre fenced garden. I wouldn't be a part of this community had she not instilled a deep love of this life! π±

@SirLiquorice My euphorbia platyclada is growing a baby i thought i would have to propagate one stem from it one day so that way i have all four of them growing in my pot looks like i don't have to do that anyways!βΊοΈπ±πΆ

#SucculentLove as a first time mother of succulent plants. When should I consider repotting my succulents? Iβve only had them for two days.
@Prentyce I was told that it grows like a lithops, so I had to have it
@Prentyce thank you! π
Some are rescued bits that fell off, sometimes I asked for a cutting π

@JazzedJuniper aloe is the best for your skin!
Ah thank you for the feature @RJG!! I have read that some pings DO sort of revert to a succulent-like dormancy so I believe you are correct! Now I have to go do more research on this! Lol. Beautiful succulents and cacti, even in the winter, everybody!
@UpfrontDisphyma wow thatβs so cool. Is it a pup growing from the root system or is it a seed that fell into the soil? Either way thatβs cool
@CasualOnionweed that crested/grafted one looks really cool.
@SirLiquorice Pretty sure it's a pup that's growing from the root system what a great rare sight to see since i haven't seen this happening in images on google.π±π
