How do I propagate this baby?

#Hoya
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 5 days ago
These are pretty easy to propagate. Cut off 4-6 inches. Allow the end to scab over for a day. This is a must for these you need it to scab or callous over so it does not rot. Try to get 2 or 3 nodes on you prop stem.

Then plant in well draining soil or water. πŸ’¦

I actually just propagated mine a couple of months ago and it rooted fairly quickly (about 2 weeks) in soil. I used a well draining soil that I make by hand. It is:
50% orchid bark small
20% coco coir
20% perlite
5% horticultural charcoal
5% worm castings

Keep moist but not wet if you plant it in soil and make sure the node is covered. You can water less when it is rooted.

For water just keep a node covered with water, cut away any leaves that would be under water though. Change the water so it stays clean.

Don’t expect it to produce leaves very quickly. These are VERY slow growing usually only about 6 inches a year. So you will need to be patient.
The colors on my photo are not accurate the plants are really much greener but I had to lighten the photo to see the plants because the sun was behind them. πŸ’•πŸͺ΄
