Homestead/farm/garden advice?!
Hello Greg lovies, haven’t been on here in a while & I miss my Greg regulars/Green soul sisters 😭 I have news that my husband & I are now owners of 10 acres! Been spending everyday clearing out greenbrier vines & cleaning up trimming trees.. but If anyone has any advice, do’s, dont’s, upscale, thrift store ideas, anything of experience in making this journey any easier I’d appreciate it 🤍 things we plan on having is chickens, cattle, full blown garden of all the veggies I can, bees, citrus, melons & berries.. we are in #centralflorida #zone9 so if there is anything helpful anyone would like to share in experience I can’t tell you how much that would mean! Between my husband & I we have done hours of reading books, articles, YouTube & listening to podcasts, but I know personal experiences are always the best..

@SuperbRaspfern You made my heart smile so huge 🤍🤍🤍 Thank you, was not easy to save up & be patient for the right time.. 10 years in the wait 😅 it’ll be a couple months(fingers crossed sooner🤞🏼) till any animals or anything, trying to get power out there so we can move the rv first. Once we run out of things to clear & the rv is there that’s when the real fun begins in building projects, chickens & possibly a puppy 😬 I will surely keep yall updated, I haven’t posted or commented on things much but I still creep to see how everyone is doing 🥰 just getting tons of battle scars fighting vines, some are so old they’ve turned into trees lol, but man you can tell the trees are so happy not being choked by them!

It is hard to wait for your dream to come true that's for sure. As least as we age we know good things do come to those who wait. And we worked many years to accomplish those goals. Which makes you smile bigger and be even more proud when you know you reached that goal. Especially give the hard work and determination to get there.
Oof vines, I love them but only when directed to where I want them. I picture you with your foot up tree and pulling with all your might to break them free!! They are such a challenge and that's not even the roots! 😰🥵

@SuperbRaspfern it truly hasn’t settled in yet, it almost feels like we’re just working on someone else’s property lol. We hoped eventually the sacrifice would pay off, but getting exactly what we prayed for is unfathomable.. but as you said, good things come to those who wait! I pray you accomplish your dreams as well 🤍
Haha no foot up the tree but I was definitely Tarzan’ing those vines trying to yank those suckers out, I did bust my butt twice thus far from them snapping 😂 you’re right, yanking them out of the tree they are intertwined in is way tougher then pulling their “sweet potato” root ball out 🥵
