What’s up with #ripplejade
My ripple jade #Crassula was doing great up until recently. It’s been dropping leaves at the bottom and some of the top leaves are getting mushy and brown around the edges. Too much water? Sun? Something else? Help? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #CurlyJade #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #PlantClinic #PlantAddict

If you live in a place that has winters with temperatures that fall below fifty degrees Fahrenheit, plant your ripple jade in a container indoors. These plants require at least six hours of direct sunlight (or plenty of partial sun), so place the container near a window or bright light source.

Water your ripple jade infrequently but thoroughly, and allow the soil to dry between waterings. Your plant may need more water in the warm growing season—spring and summer—but once fall rolls around, they'll require less moisture.
@KikiGoldblatt thanks. It’s been extremely hot here, like over 100 degrees during the daytime and probably over 85 in the window where she sits. I’ve been following Greg’s watering recommendations but maybe it’s too much? She gets a deep bottom watering every time

If it’s outside maybe it needs to be watered more often.

Browning leaves are typically caused by under watering, sunburn, or overwatering. If the leaf tips are turning brown and crunchy, the soil likely became too dry for too long in between waterings. This can also cause the plant to drop leaves.
How often does Greg say to water?? I water mine very soaringly and it’s in full sun. Maybe every 2-3 weeks. I’m naughty and have it in a no drainage glass thing but I can monitor the wetness this way and it’s super deep. Even though the top is dry see how wet it is below that?
@Jilliebeanstalk thanks so much. That’s helpful. I guess I’ve been overwatering. Seems like I only water it every couple weeks but maybe that’s still too much. I’m going to try snoozing more often and hopefully it’ll bounce back. I love my little freaky jade! 😂
Even if you overwater you can save it by taking cutting they are slow grower too
@EagerPhlox glad to help 🪴
@EagerPhlox Try a water meter. I've killed too many succulents over watering, so now I always check. Amazingly, I press the snooze button on Greg watering prompts a lot.
