@PlantyPlanter are you asking about the Jewel orchid? I keep mine on a southwest facing windowsill. It is partially blocked by some exterior plants to it gets dappled sunlight. Keep soil moist and use a weak orchid fertilizer weekly.
@PlantyPlanter yes they need, I didn’t have my grow light a whole week because of shipping delays, had them in the same spot my other plants thrive and they looked completely miserable, the roots were visibly stringy like hair and the leafs started to die, the green one almost died completely! as soon as I installed the light they popped right back for me! I can add a link to where I got mine it was only $30+my begonias love it! Do research before getting something exotic, sure they look cool but they definitely require different care as all plants do!
@PlantyPlanter it will need a grow light or natural light. Is it’s not blooming then it either needs more nutrients or more light. The color occurs naturally. It was a gift from my boyfriend but I believe it came from Publix

@PlantyPlanter my carnivorous guy said something about red lights being too intense I haven’t experienced it cuz I got only white! the lights are a mix of red and white sooo I think it will be okay. The wattage looks high 3000 compared to the 225 I was recommended too haha but I see it’s adjustable, if you get it maybe start with a medium or lower setting to make sure it doesn’t burn anything! I might buy one myself lol looks cool and affordable
I have an extra bear paw I can try to mail you 😬 they are pretty sensitive so may not be worth it. Mine are all about 6" from an ESE window, in plastic pots with African Violet soil (closest to succulent soil I had at the time). They looks leggy but I think it's because I lost a couple paws in the repot. I bottom water and they all have new growth!
I have red pagoda. It’s growing like weeds and I’m not a succulents person. I put it in a sunny window and basically ignored it except for watering. It’s got blossoms now and I’ve ordered a special pot for repotting so it can keep going. It’s not very red but I’m in pennsylvania. I’ll put it under a grow light after repotting and hopefully I’ll get more red color. I think I got it at a Walmart which I normally avoid but sometimes u get lucky. #RedPagoda #wishlistplant #
Also, it drops its little leaves which I call little beans lol, usually they fall back into the soil and grow roots on their own, but I know people that have longgggg trialing ones run into issues with them falling into other pots and growing but they don’t always fall some have more issues than others 💛
