Ready to repot?
Hi everyone, I have a very healthy calathea (though I don't want to jinx anything, previous experience with different varieties has taught me just how quickly they can get very unhappy!). She's still in the pot I bought her in 2-3 years ago and is still shooting new leaves. I've thinned the leaves once or twice as it's getting a bit crowded, but it's so happy I'm assuming they like to be quite crowded? Anyway I'd love to repot her and perhaps split the plant but I'm so scared as calatheas are fickle! Any tips, or does she not need it at the moment? Photo of the pot below. @Moonstera Hi Emma! Welcome to the Greg app! π Your Calathea is absolutely gorgeous!!! π I don't have one so I'm not sure what advice to give you but if you edit your post and put hashtags in there somewhere it will ensure that more people and the right people see your question. Like #calatheacrew for example.
Just # then a list will appear to choose from or start spelling whatever plant you have a question about. Sorry I couldn't help but again I can't get over how stunning she is.

Hi @Moonstera!
I *think* orbifolia is one of the more forgiving Calatheas, but I could be wrong. As I understand they are one of those that craves the most humidity in the air, but I don't have this spesific one myself.
I have not countered any problems the times I have devided my healty Calatheas. So if you want to, I think you should give it a goπ It is possible to just divide off one or two small parts at first and put the bigger part back in the same pot and soil. That way you give it some more space without changing everything at once. And you can try something else for the smaller part to see how it reacts, as an experience for next timeπ
For calatheas: as long as there are healthy roots they will regrown π Here is from last time I devided my Yellow Fusion this summer (it was not as big as yours). They are all thriving now (those in soil better than those in pon thoughπ), even the only-roots have new healty leavesππ±

Thanks @MockingJay and @princesspitstop, I haven't been brave enough yet but I'm going to go for it!
