What is happening with this app
I really love Greg. But I feel the improvements are really making me wait for it.. and it is just going downhill in the meantime. When will us Android-users get the benefits the iphone-users get?
Can we please get the function of identifying plants from existing pics back? And not only from taking pictures right now?
And WHY can't I see anybodys plants no more 😭 All I get is "this page isn't available".

@MockingJay Is this happening when you try to click on someone else's plants in their Oasis? I've already let Erika know last week that there was a problem. She assured me that they are working on it. 🤷 I'm sure there are quite a few fires that need to be put out.

@MockingJay I agree with the identifying plants from existing pics!! It's been so long I got used to not having it! Lol Also as an Android user are you able to see the Greg shop without it closing out after only looking at a couple of plants? I still haven't been able to see everything yet.
@MockingJay I can see that. Especially when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee and check my phone like an addict. The bright light hurts my eyes.
@BuffFeltbush3 don't think this is related to my post but I would say it depends on the plant you get and what state it is in😄

It's usually best to wait a month or so and let them acclimate to their new environment before making them go through the added stress of repotting, but again...it depends. If the soil is quite soggy and there's a possibility of root rot, I'll repot sooner, because in that case the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks. Many commercial growers use very moisture-retaining soil so they don't need watering as often, which isn't a good fit for many plants like succulents or really anything that likes their soil to completely dry out between waterings.

@MockingJay I had no idea Android users were dealing with this! You used to be able to ID plants from a photo, but now you can't?? Wtf? It would be one thing if you never had that feature available, but to have it and then lose it is utter craziness. Not being able to view other's plants OR YOUR OWN would be my last straw. You have my sympathies Android users 🙁

We recently removed the “Choose From Gallery” option as part of some behind-the-scenes work to improve app security. Specifically, we were seeing some issues with incorrect plant profile photos being uploaded, and we want to make sure everything stays accurate and safe.
That said — good news! You can still upload photos from your gallery. Just head to your plant in the Oasis, tap “Track”, or go to “Edit Plant Details”, and you’ll see the option to add a photo from your gallery there.
If you’re not seeing those options yet, make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of Greg (1.6.1) on the Google Play Store.
Here’s how to check:
1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device
2. Search for “Greg”If an update is available, just tap “Update”

@MockingJay I feel ya. I get so frustrated typing out a post only to have it disappear! I copy the post before trying to post it so I don't lose everything I had typed lol.
Android is glitchy because it was developed after Greg was developed iOS/iPhone...I know the #gregteam has constantly worked on the android glitches over the last few years. Hang in there it's better than it was, it will improve!

@Aikalovesphilos I know I can upload pictures in my oasis after🙈 But if I want to add a new plant right now, sitting on the couch, I actively have to get up to find a plant to picture bc the app won't let me choose an existing pic anymore, and it ALSO needs to recognize a plant in the camera-view for me to be allowed to add a new plant🤷♀️ ("point your phone at a plant", I guess my cat isn't a plant😔😆) Which often leads to me getting a picture of the nearest plant, registering and ID-ing it wrong, and then have to update it. Which again I would think would mess up the plant-identification-code in the long run as I add wrong plants (which I guess others might also do atm)🤷♀️ I do understand it is for safety reasons, but it makes me a little grumpy nonetheless😆

@Sassylimey I constantly have the keyboard freeze up on me. I'll be typing out a comment or making a post, and all of a sudden the keyboard, screen, app, all of it becomes completely unresponsive and the only way to fix it is to close out the app and open it again. So I've also gotten in the habit of copying what I've typed so far, just in case it freezes on me. This has happened at least once a day for over a year 🫤

Yes @stephonicle, it happens all the time, I do try to remember to copy what I've typed because it almost always disappears.
I even have to restart my phone every morning to access my plant care schedule or it doesn't display 😕 🤷
