Marks on focus microcarpa leaves

Hey everyone!

I noticed this kind of black/brown mark on my ficus the other day and this small yellowing leaf which also has a similar mark on. Does anyone know what that is or why it’s happened? No other leaves appear to be yellowing which I’m glad about!

Thank you and happy weekend πŸ’šπŸ€—

I think the leaf is yellowing because it's old. The elaf will fall off sometime (or you can pick it off) and the plant will grow a new leaf.
The black or brown marks on your Ficus microcarpa leaves could be due to several factors, such as overwatering, fungal infections, or even sunburn if the plant was exposed to direct sunlight suddenly. The yellowing of one leaf might indicate stress or an early sign of more widespread issues. To address this, first, check the soil moisture; if it's too wet, allow it to dry out slightly before watering again. Make sure the plant is not in direct sunlight but still receives bright, indirect light. If the marks spread or if more leaves start yellowing, consider removing the affected leaves and checking the plant for pests or signs of fungal infection.
@Gustavo thanks so much for the reply. What causes a fungal infection? And is there a way to stop it? I don’t think it is that, but I’d like to know for when or if the time comes! I’ve since removed all the leaves with marks on including the yellow one and everything seems to be good. None others have turned or seen effected. I eased on the spraying - I was spraying a lot. And I did put it outside one day because it was nice out so that maybe wasn’t the best idea. Thanks again for the advice! πŸ‘πŸ’š
@EverGreenStudio I’m no expert so keep that in mind, but usually the recipe for fungal infections is high humidity without enough airflow. You might want to check that out

@EverGreenStudio you’re very welcome :)
@EverGreenStudio By the way, I forgot the other part. There are many products to treat a fungal infection. I personally treat it using horticultural sulfur diluted in water (3 grams per 1 liter of water) sprayed throughout the plant. But I encourage you to do some research :)
