Stupid Question #AlocasiaAddicts

I feel so ridiculous for even asking this πŸ˜‚ #BlackVelvetAlocasia and #AlocasiaLauterbachiana live right next to each other. They are both flowering. Can they cross pollinate? πŸ‘€
Maybe πŸ‘€ @KikiGoldblatt
I wanna know too! πŸ˜€
Yes! @ForFoxSake HELP
Not a stupid question! I’m here for this one πŸ₯°πŸ’šπŸ₯°
@RJG all I know about alocasia is that its sort of like cannabis where a flower can be male or female but never both. And I’m not sure really about this process I have mostly philodendron
Oh interesting. More research is needed πŸ•΅πŸ»

@ForFoxSake this seems more complicated than just bonking them together like barbies
@AggroResting yes unfortunately since you’d be bumping kens sometimes. And female flowers have timed window of fertility before they go sterile so it’s a little bit of timing a little bit of luck. If you isolate the 2 plants and start to bonk them together or use a paintbrush to just get in the flowers and stir things up randomly you might be able to brute force it via persistence
