@SuperbRasfern yours is growing on a moss pole. How did you get it to like the moss pole? I have one in my swiss cheese and for the life of me I can't get it to grow around the pole. What's your secret, if you don't mind me asking?.?
@SuperbRaspfern thank you so much!!!! I just got this one off of Amazon. Itβs currently in a 2 inch. Do you think itβs still safe to report in a 6 inch?
@FestiveTagetes I start them off by tying loosely with twine. As they grow I add a bit more twine to tie up the new growth.
@EmyW I do, just be sure to only water her when she needs it and use well draining soil.
For my philos it's the same as my pothos.
1/3 peat moss
1/3 bark
1/3 perlite
If you use normal bagged soil you should usually add about 2/3 bark or perlite to the soil. This helps the soil drain well. Most soils are comprised of dirt which is clay and silt. Those 2 things are heavy and don't drain well. Plants really need oxygen to reach the roots and stay healthy. If it's to heavy and wet they lose the ability to access oxygen. Then they can't absorb the water and nutrients they need. π©·

@FestiveTagetes You can mist the pole is you want it will also help any vine to attach if it's moist. I don't because I'm too lazy. I have far too many vines in my home to do that! π©·
Honestly I have a brasil. Iβm telling you as a philo guy thatβ¦ is acually probably NOT a philo. Brasil grow with vines, that go down or up! Never have I ever seen a brasil look like that. I know what that plant actually is. See where all the leaves emerge from? That one circular stem? To me, maybe just me, that looks like a alocasia. I will give an old pic of Sammy b4 I went on vacation. The leaf shape, where the leaves emerge from, the similarities are there! Check the soil, and see if there is a cork like thing. Donβt be worried thatβs how alocasias grow. If there is no cork like thing in the soil, then idk what the heck that plant is. Def NOT a philo. I mastered them. For example my alocasia. Look very carefully to see the similarities. Hope you figure it out.
