White fusion?
Hey!
Today while buying a calathea, I was told that it was not White Fusion but a Mix. However, they did not clarify a mix of what. Do you think it is not a white fusion? #calathea #CalatheaWhiteFusion

It does look mostly like white fusion to meπ€ I don't think it is yellow fusion as they do not get white on them. But both white and yellow fusion should have red underside. The fact that the brighter green do not have color on the underside is kind of puzzeling π€
I did though get some lighter leaves with less red on the underside on mine when they got too little light, so that might be the cause.
Also, if there is in fact two plants in there, the other one could be the "Stella", which often is hard to differ from the white fusion as they look so much alike. But you do have some leaves that resemlbles the Stella.
(White fusion has the painting-strokes, while Stella has more of a feathery-look where the white is more often on the inside of the green in the pattern and usually have less variety in the green color.)πͺ΄π± Typical white fusion on the left, Stella on the right.

@KookyKaraka So when they say it's a mix, I think they are saying there is more than one type of plant in there...
To me, what I've circled in red looks like White Fusion, but the part circled in yellow might be Yelliw Fusion or some other variety/hybrid.

@UltraKoreanfir wow! Thank you! Yes, they told there was more than one type, but I could not identify which ones. Thank you so much! So these light green leaves are Yellow fusion, and these white/green are White fushion.
@KookyKaraka Green & white leaves are white fusion. I can't really see the other one very well, but it might be yellow fusion.
Here's a yellow fusion pic from Etsy. You can probably judge it best.

@UltraKoreanfir it is more like white with light green, not aure that there are yellow parts in mine π₯²
@Plantlover2812 thank you! You think it is a mix of white and yellow fushions?
@Plantlover2812 thank youuu!
@KookyKaraka Maybe time will tell. It could be the lighter green one was still advertised/grown as a white fusion, but someone just didn't get the cultivation exactly right. But it is possible that with time it could develop more yellowish coloring. At any rate, it's pretty. And having the contrasting shades definitely makes it visually interesting.
@UltraKoreanfir thank you for your help
@MockingJay they had white fusions as well and they were labeled.
@KookyKaraka then I aggree with @UltraKoreanfir, it is possible they didn't get the cultivation right for this one. There are no other registered varieties that I know of, other than the Stella, that resembles white fusionπ As you will be able to tell the difference from yellow fusion.π (Could be a cross between white and yellow fusion though? They are both originated from Albertii)
@MockingJay thank you! Stella looks closer than yellow fusion. It definitely has not all red leaves on the underside
