Why are the ends browning up?
Hiii. New here, just downloaded the app. Can someone help me figure out what's wrong with my spider plant? πŸ™ˆ

(I only use rain water to water all my plants-hard water problems)

Too much water? -i water once a week usually.

Too small of a pot? -its been in there since it had roots big enough to plant.

In direct sunlight? - It's in the shade

I don't know what it needs - if someone can help me out that would be amazing!
All the babies detangled -not sure if it matters to see them LOL
@ComicBlackpea how’s the humidity?
Given a you’ve answered already, could be it needs more water or higher humidity.
Hmm never thought about the humidity. πŸ€” Might be something I'd try to see if I see any change. Any other suggestions? - I'll take them all please.
Your spider is BEAUTIFUL! Given that it’s flowering and still putting off new babies. It might just be that too much energy is going to the babies and not enough left for the mother.

With watering each week is the soil dry when you go to water it?
@ComicBlackpea

One of the most common issues with spider plants is water stress. This can mean too much or too little moisture. Plants should not be standing in a saucer of water and they need high enough humidity to avoid leaf tip burn. Overwatering is a cause of spider plant leaves turning black or dark brown.

BTW nice babies. I propagated mine. I had over 25.
@Shaubplantshack Thank you, I love my plants! Yes it usually dries out between watering. Do you think it needs more water then? Again I never thought it would need more water to feed all the babies. Might need to up my watering game with this one.
@ComicBlackpea my pleasure! I suggest giving her a bigger pot no more that 2” bigger than she’s in now and more water. Keep with the same amount of water at each watering but check every couple of days to see how long it takes before she is dry. This way you will be able to track how much she is drinking and then be able to adjust accordingly and go back to a once a week watering (with the larger amount.)
@KikiGoldblatt

That's good to know, appreciate it. Thank you πŸ€—

I need to propagate mine also but I haven't gotten to it. I should count how many I have !

25! That's amazing- did you sell/give them away or keep them ? I'm not sure what to do with mine.
@ComicBlackpea when I propagate I typically keep one or two and gift or exchange the rest (with friends or family)
@ComicBlackpea I wish @KikiGoldblatt would give me some lol. Hers are gorgeous!!! I agree with all of the above. Water stress, humidity, try rotating the plant since the backside looks a little bare, propagate, maybe raise it up higher, and a repotting I could be overdue. The new soil with give new nutrients to mama and babies. You could also trim the tips on an angle with sterilized sheers.
@Jilliebeanstalk I’m with you! I would love to do a plant exchange with @KikiGoldblatt
@Jilliebeanstalk

Oh my goodness, you're right. I just took a look at her profile, she has lots of plants- (new here not sure what/how this app does/works).
Ah thank you, I appreciate all the advice. I'll have to do it one of these days.
@Jilliebeanstalk and @Shaubplantshack I would gladly give you all some. Wished you all closer.
@KikiGoldblatt Tn might make a nice road trip one day. πŸ˜†πŸ₯°
@Jilliebeanstalk @Shaubplantshack she’s growing more babies.
@KikiGoldblatt that’s insane and beautiful!!! I know have 3 different varieties of spiders. Some are still young and waiting to see what they will look like as they get bigger.
@Jilliebeanstalk @Shaubplantshack I always threaten @sarahsalith that I’m gonna come to Memphis TN and take most of her plants.
@KikiGoldblatt

Oh em Gee 😍😍 they are beautiful!!!!
@KikiGoldblatt I don’t blame you at all! @sarahsalith has an AMAZING collection! πŸ₯°
@KikiGoldblatt 🀀🀀🀀🀀
So, did you check the roots? Because I'd say it sounds like you know what you're doing and I think you've had the plant for a while - so I'd check the roots first. If it needs a repot, do what @Shaubplantshack said and go 2" bigger. 😁
@sarahsalith

No I haven't checked the roots, I'll do that when I replant it - thank you, looking online right now for a bigger pot that I can hang up hopefully. πŸ€—
