Hey! This looks like a possible overwatering issue. These guys do prefer to stay consistently moist, however too much moisture will cause root rot. You want to make sure the plant isn’t ever sitting in a body of waterr greater than 30 min. - an hour at max!

I’d recommend gently removing the dead portions & let that bad boy dry out a bit. If the die off continues, I’d definately take a look at the roots to check for root rot.
