Help! Curling leaves π π’
My baby monstera has been so sad and I don't know how to fix it! At first, I thought it was over watering after I had been out of town for a couple of days, let it dry out, and gave some additional light with my grow light. Then my dog knocked him over the other day π.
Should I try to repot? I'm so sad, please help this newb plant mom! @Hypsie, @plantmompy any wise words of wisdom? You were very helpful before.

@PlantMompy, when I returned from my trip on 12/11 was when the curling started. Held off on watering because my husband may have given too much.
I haven't re-potted it, but I'm leaning towards doing so. After my dog knocked it over, soil came out, and the whole plant moved position with some visible roots. I also have Leca in the bottom of the soil

@ThisCalatheaCan, I'm worried that when my dog knocked it over also shocked it. Would it be safe to add some new soil on top, then water? What about my grow light, would that help? I also bring him in the bathroom once a week while showering for some humidity π€·πΌββοΈ
I'm wondering if hubby didn't water enough, so it's still thirsty.
Sometimes they have transplant shock, but it doesn't sound like that could be it (phew).
How does the soil feel right now? If you can, use a wooden kebob stick to get all the way down to the bottom of the pot. Sometimes, if soil is dry too long it becomes hydrophobic and you have to convince it to hold water again.

@PlantMompy it was very dry, added additional soil (some was lost after the fall) and watered. Placed it near my grow light with my succulents and ponytail palm to give it a rainforest vibe. If that makes sense π
Great! Next time you water, if it runs out the bottom really quickly, or if the leaves haven't perked up in a few days you'll have to rehydrate the soil.
Personally, I bottom water it until the top of the soil doesn't look dry again. You can also dunk the soil and pot totally under water and submerge it until it stops bubbling.
Good luck!

Greg just recently had me fertilize my monsteraβs and their leaves perked right up. I used half 1/8th tsp of arbor plant food (The orange bottle) into my regular watering can. My leaves lifted right up!
I know fertilizing is scary and can burn the leaves though so try what everyone else said first. If none of that works, heβs hungry!
