Any idea why all of my monstera leaves are solid with no ...

I bought this dude from a friend of mine who sells her propagations so I know he's pretty young, is that why none of the leaves have split or is it a sunlight issue? I have him in an East facing window less than 6 inches away with no direct sunlight. I was told it was a regular monstera deliciosa but it kind of looks like a dwarf? Totally confused here. πŸ₯΄

It could be sunlight but I was told typically the first few leaves will grow without fenestrations until they mature
Yep! Give that baby more sunlight. The more you give it, the more holes you’ll get. If it’s real young it may take a little while, but they’re pretty fast growers.
it won’t start getting fenestrations until it gets more mature:)
Start giving it lots of sunlight now (indirect so it don't burn) give it about a month or so, at this size you'll start seeing the fenestrations soon.

My daughter and I both bought a Monstera Deliciosa last week. I have mine under a grow light. No fenestrations yet. My daughter's is in North and East facing windows about 6-7 inches away from North indirect sun and 6 feet from East window.. She sent pictures this morning of two huge new leaves opened with fenestrations. Can't wait to see my fenestrations start. It's something to look forward to.
I dont hav a monstera but my goodfren who is a monstera hogger shares bright indirect helps. It helps in their growth and leaf development. So give it the light and time.
