Is this algae in my begonia prop?

I got these cuttings two days ago as a gift and they’ve got lots of roots! But, since I’m still new to all this, I can’t tell if that darkness on these roots is natural on a begonia or if this is algae.

The water doesn’t get green at all, or even turn much at all, for the record. I’ve been changing the water daily but idk what was going on before they were my responsibility.

If it’s algae, how do I remedy? #help #beginnerplantparent #Begonia #BegoniaBunch #PropagationStation #Propagation
6ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 23 hours ago
Also there’s some gunk on the outside of the jar, I promise the water itself is clear πŸ˜…
I don't see any algae. Usually if it's in indirect light it won't get much algae
@Araceae phew! Thanks for easing my anxiety there ☺️
You can spray the roots with peroxide and let it set for about two minutes and rinse off and change out the water and it will clean them up nicely
@Glassguy65 thanks!
No problem had the same issue with my wife’s plant and now we spray the roots every other water change haven’t seen any funky stuff since
