Rotting?

#Sempervivum Iโ€™ve never seen this before- anybody know what caused this?
I get that with Sempervivum when the soil is too moist for too long. I usually just pull the dead head and let it dry out a bit to recover.

Iโ€™d say it looks a bit like rotting, or possibly some sort of pest (like slugs๐Ÿ˜ก) eating away at it. If it is slugs, look for a slight shiny look on the others
Also, how often do you water it? And what type of soil do you have?
The soil looks way to wet and heavy. Dry all the roots out thoroughly. Repot in fresh soil. Add perlite for drainage. Don't water immediately after or for at least 2 weeks after the repot.
