Hi @UnsurpassedMum I have the same trouble with my beefsteak! I have found that Greg is not actually too far off BUT I didn't go up quite that large. I would water when the app says but less volume. One of mine is a rectangle so I just went with the smaller measurement, it's been getting about 1/2 a cup each time. My one in a round bulb pan I started with the volume Greg suggested, then snoozed so it was longer between watering. Pick whichever is best for you!

They are working on adjusting the recommendations to be more accurate to pot volume and not just diameter but it's not quite available yet!
How large is the root system? Usually when you pot up, you should only go about 2 inches larger. As far as Greg's watering schedule, I think when I sleep the reminder a couple times, sometimes I see a change. I don't depend on Greg for all of them, cause it tells me to water my succulents way too often. Good luck!
The root system was surprisingly large, though not pot bound. I did look for a shallow 6" pot but didn't find one at a good price. The plant seems to like the pot. The rhizome has grown almost to the sides of the pot. So far I've just given it one cup per watering. It seems happy. Thanks, all for helping me.
Can you post a picture showing the depth of the pot? But yes, it must be based on conventional depth, because I agree - that sounds like way too much to me.
The bulb pan is just 3" deep. For the usual clay pots, the diameter equals the depth.
