Any guesses when this orchid will bloom?

Oncidium experts, when do you think this will bloom? Thank you!! #OrchidLovers

@hallien Probably after buds form 🤔

I’m sorry, I’m playing!! 😜 But really I have no idea how old it is or what your homes conditions are 🤷🏼‍♀️
I have one that is so special to me and it is budding now
They can take aaaaaaages. The most annoying spikes among my orchids are from oncidiums generally. I always complain about them. I think because the spikes themselves generally grow at an okay speed, but then they trick you with the first tantalizing buds, making you think they will bloom soon 😀. In my experience, many then will still take weeks, sometimes even months after you see those buds 😅. I'm sure I commented under some of mine. I'll try to find some anecdotal stats from those posts to not only go by my fuzzy annoyed memory. It's the picture in the plant card what it looks like right now?
@DreamMachine thank you!
@MusicalRedmint thank you!
Hmm. I've tried to look up my old posts via browser because the app was particularly weird today. All I can say is that my tiny twinkle took roughly over 2 months from the first appearance of spikes to the first buds opening. (Greg doesn't give dates on older posts so I can only guestimate). That's not that long, as orchids go. However, i think it always seems like an eternity because it definitely has almost fully formed spikes and even started working on buds for well over half that time. Maybe 1 1/2 months before it bloomed it looked like yours.
It was a bit weak at that point so maybe it might be faster for you, but this time around, I've also waited for weeks and weeks for buds to open that had already been fully formed. Today it finally opened one bud, but I'm sure, I've mentioned the fully formed spikes at least a month ago already.
In any case, have patience, and enjoy them when they are finally there. They are definitely worth it. One of my favorite oncidium blooms ever.
@MusicalRedmint thank you! I’ll try to be patient!
If you want, I can tide you over with close-ups once mine really gets going. Should be any day now 😅 what color is yours going to be?
@MusicalRedmint yellow, I believe!
