I just noticed a couple of these spots on this guy. What ...

Meeeeeealy bugs. I'm sorry. They are ready to kill but a bit harder to get rid of. They like to hide and they like to travel. It's best to immediately isolate the affected plant and check the surrounding ones thoroughly over the next few days. Wipe down the surrounding areas, also checking any niches. Then great your plant with isopropyl alcohol. I myself prefer spot treatments with a cotton swab (after cutting away any too affected areas, if there are any). But depending on the kind of plant, some also advise just spraying it down thoroughly with it. Be aware that an effect of alcohol can always be drying out the leaves though (one of the reasons why I like the spot treatments )
The adults are big and can lay massive amounts of eggs. The new ones then crop up over the next few days and weeks and can be a lot smaller. Big or small, they like to hide out - in the leaf joints for example. If you see no bugs, but dew or white powder around a joint, it's a good guess that at least one is hiding there and you should treat it. If you feel that you have been pretty diligent and they still reappear and you don't know why or where from, maybe a repot can help, since some apparently also like to go into the soil. - though I myself have never seen that.
Ugh. Thatβs what I thought π I just sprayed it down with a recipe Iβd been given for spider mites thatβs also supposed to work on these nasty little suckers. This is NOT the fun part of plant parenting!!!
