Mold and Rot!?

#AirPlant Folks, Tilly ain’t doing so hot. I got her from the floor of a Lowe’s where she fell at some point, and have had her about a week now. Top looks good but the bottom is looking pretty dark and just noticed a bit of mold. Going to do the 1 part peroxide, 2 parts water thing with a Qtip today. Any other recommendations?

Hi Mike! I’m a few hours north of you! I have a few of these. It looks pretty good- except that yummy stem…if there’s more than the one I can see- cut them off with sanitized scissors, do the peroxide water thing, then put it in a bright sunny spot and keep an eye on it.

I would also hold off on watering if it’s in the next couple of days- as water might egg on more mold…I suspect it got too much at the store.

@SillyPlantGirl thank you for the tips! I’ll give that a try. Should I also cut off the darkened leaves, or just the stem?

Well I did it! Hopefully we see some recovery. The two rotten leaves fell off right with the moldy part of the crown.
