Soft leaves

My plants new growth is dying and the mature leaves are getting soft. I repotted after a week of acclamation. I use purified water with fertilizer. I’m scared to water again. It’s in bright indirect light next to a humidifier. I’m stressed pls help!

@laniramirez99 that’s a beautiful Alocasia! Sometimes repotting Alocasia can be tricky, if the soils mix inst quite right or a little too dense, Alocasia can take a sudden turn. If it’s a newer plant I would hold off on any more fertilizer for a couple weeks, because the green house may have pumped it full of fertilizer all ready.

If the soil is staying wet to long you can place it in a brighter spot, which will help over time, or you can go for another repot, with a new and faster draining soil mix. Or just some fresh dry soil with perlite added will be better than wet soil, if water is the issue.

If you go for the repot, check the roots for any signs of decline like brown or mushy roots. Alocasia roots will definitely let you know when they are not happy. 😬 I speak from experience. I lost all the leaves and all the roots on my alocasia bambino, but was able to save it and repot it and it came back to life, healthier than ever.
