Hey y’all, I just noticed this white stuff on the outside of my succulent planter. It scrapes off. Upon further investigation, the succulent had some dead leaves and I saw a little white bug crawling in the soil. The roots did not look rotted. I only found the one bug. Any ideas for what it is or how to treat??

Not sure but it sounds like spider mites which are common pests for these cactus. Or even Mealy bugs. First I would look to dab on some alcohol at the affected spots then a general spray with neem oil.
Whatever it is, some neem oil spray might solve the problem as it is very effective for such bugs and fungus, etc. Give it a good thorough spray and also other precautions like good air flow might also help.
Good luck and cant wait for an update..YOU GOT THIS! πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ
@Seymour thank you!! I sprayed it with some Big Leaf Energy which has meem oil in it, so I’m hoping that will be enough. I also moved it to isolation so hopefully my other succulents don’t get them too 😬
@WhollyCutgrass yes, that's was a a sensible thing do to in isolating the plant but it may not hurt to spray any nearby cacti. If you see the pest and photograph it (not easy to do) it can confirm the pest and also the best treatment. If there was an issue with the soil, I would "prescribe" a different remedy.
The alcohol can be effective with some pests in particular but see how it goes. All the best!
If the bug you found was white probably mealies
@WhollyCutgrass if Michelle is right and it is mealy bugs, the alcohol dab might help do the trick!
