Hey community, I'm experiencing the loss of my grandmother. She's the one who raised me. pretty sure imma break my personal plant buying ban today and go get me a peace lily.... Does anyone have recommendations on rememberance plants? I plan on starting myself a remembrance garden ... eventually.

It's been a rough morning.

Thanks for listening.

So very sorry, Melodey πŸ«‚ πŸ™
After my dad died, I started picking outdoor plants that his hummingbirds would like. I know rosemary is symbolic for remembrance and the same for forget-me-nots. Sending you a really good hug today. ❀️
I’m so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you. πŸ’• As for remembrance plants, I’ve always liked roses since they bloom every year and each one feels special imo
@melodey A peace lily is perfect πŸ•Š πŸ™πŸΎ πŸ₯Ίβ€οΈ A worthy reason to break your plant buying ban. A remembrance garden is a beautiful tribute. So sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother πŸ’”
@corvidfan thank you.
@discreetwildyam forget me nots are our state flower (Alaska) I think that would be a beautiful addition to the rememberance garden. Thank you ❀️
@EagerPhlox thank you
@MrsSmith thank you, it's definitely a worthy reason 😭❀️❀️
I’m very sorry for your loss. I think a prayer plant without nicely.
So sorry for your loss @melodey. Sending lots of love your way!!β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ’šβ€
I’m so sorry for your loss, working for a florist we do lots of peace Lillie’s, lots of planters, but mainly any house plant can be a remembrance plantπŸ’› find one that reminds you of her and her love πŸ’›
I am sorry for your loss, that is so tough. Sending healing your way.
May her light continue to shine through your eyes.

I plant a variety of sunflowers every year since my mom passed. The bees, birds and butterflies all prosper from them. I include feeders and a small fountain.... it's nice to watch so much life buzzing around my remembrance garden.
Oh Melodey, I'm so very sorry to hear this. Please let us know if there are other ways we as a committee can support you through this.

When I lost my grandfather recently I added one of her favorite plants to my collection. If she had a favorite plant or flower you might get one, or even one you like in her favorite color.

Peace lilies are always a nice choice for any reason and are easy to care for even if you don't have any experience with them.
Forget me not β™₯︎ beautiful little flowers.
So sorry to hear.
I, too, started planting bc of sad times. My mom is in the terminal breast cancer stages and it started with her handing down some jades to me.
Plant therapy can be therapeutic. Sending you healing thoughts. πŸ˜”
So sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace. I thk a remembrance garden is so sweet. Good way to look at the plants and remember and at the same time healing. Did she have any particular plants that she liked?
I like the idea of majestic looking ones: palm, braided moneytree, monstera, mature peacelily
Smaller ones: succulents, fittonia, soh
My condolences, sending you love and support. A peace Lilly is perfect….maybe get a different type like a domino peace Lilly or a platinum mist? Or pick something that flowers with her fav color or has her fav color in it. Just a few ideas. Take one day at a time and know she’s looking over you. πŸ’–
