#greggang !!! I finally found a small #Calathea White fusion! 😍

And with her, I found a #misto! I'm so excited!
They are both baby plants, so I'm gonna be able to watch them grow!

I have been looking everywhere for a white fusion for months now, and finally, i can call this girl mine! πŸͺ΄πŸ˜β€οΈ

This now brings my #marantaceae collection to 21 different ones 🀭πŸͺ΄

And I'm still looking for a jungle velvet! But I want a small baby plant! And the stores only ever have giant mature ones, and oh boy, do I not know where I would put a big girl like that πŸ˜…

I should do a family photo of them all together soon! πŸ₯³

Yup, I just exited and wanted to share! πŸ˜…

@MockingJay I got my white fusion 😍😍😍 so exited!
@Linx Yey! πŸ˜„πŸ₯³ So excited for you!πŸͺ΄πŸͺ΄ Love the Misto too!πŸ₯°
@MockingJay she is just a baby, but I'm really hoping to see her grow big and beautiful! πŸͺ΄πŸ˜
So here is to hoping that she isn't a diva 🀭
She has a lot of sisters to show her how to grow up and be big and beautiful! 🀣
@Linx I'm sure she understands that she has no choise but to excel at growing in your careπŸ˜‚πŸŒ±πŸŒ±
@Linx they are both gorgeous plants! And I’m with you on small plants. I really don’t have any space left for a large plant but a small plant or even a cutting in water? Sure! I can find a spot for that. 😁
Beautiful! Mine unfortunately gave up on me lol but yours is gonna thrive!
So pretty I just got a little white fusion and rattle snake I've been wanting for so long but I want little ones to grow on my own they are 4 inch
@coffeeNcalathea
The white fusion is smaller than it seems in the picture, the pot is only the size of my palm.
I could not agree with you more about the misto 🀭
@nellz4estfairyz yes! Can always find space for a lil' plant 🀭
My kitchen window are packed with smaller plants.. even tho they are growing bigger by the day..
Well.. they were small once πŸ€πŸ˜…
@Gustavo oh no, what happened? 😭
@plantfinatic oh they look so cute! The smaller rattlesnakes make me giddy!
Those small leaves are the cutest thing ever! 😍πŸͺ΄

Growing your plants from a small plant is really rewarding! I love it! 😍
Awesome! It’s so fun seeing your babies grow 🌱
@ClassicAposeris i 100% agree! It is so rewarding! 😍πŸͺ΄
@Linx humidity! Which weirded me out because my Rose Calathea continues alright :( anyway… guess she didn’t like me lol
@Gustavo humidity? How? πŸ€”
I have no humidifiers or anything in my home
@Linx One of the main things about Calatheas is humidity, right? Not necessarily an humidifier. For my Rose Calathea, which is used to much higher humidity, I bought a humidifier - for the White Fusion, I tried EVERYTHING - and I mean EVERYTHING - but it kept getting dried out and looking like it was burnt. And I mean, I'm not an expert, but at this point I know which plants can take direct light, where to place them etc... anyway, humidity was my best guess! I bought it from my usual vendor/consultant, so I do not believe it came with any diseases or anything. It just reached a point where all the leaves dried out on me :(
@Gustavo I don't think the main thing with them are humidity, other than they like it to stay consistent πŸ™‚

Maybe the white fusion doesn't like the constant humidity as the rose does πŸ™‚

Their leaves are waaay different from each other, so I would assume they need different treatment πŸ€”πŸͺ΄

The fusions have very thin paper like leaves, where I find that a lot of the rounder leaf calatheas have much more waxy leaves with much more structure to them πŸ€”πŸƒ

As I said, I have no humidifiers in my home, and I am keeping 21 different marantaceae without any real problems, at least none that I don't know the reason for ☺️🌱

I would think that it might be a substrate or fungal issue your white fusion has succumbed to, without knowing for sure πŸ€”πŸͺ΄
@Linx I don’t think there was a fungal issue (although I have no way to know for sure) and bought it as a baby, but can definitely vouch for the substrate being adequate, knowing the place I got it from. Anyway, I’ll never know hahaha

But your point makes a lot of sense to me - although the Rose does feel the lack of humidity, the main thing about them in general is, as you said, to stay consistent. πŸ˜ƒ

I wish I still had it though. Yours is beautiful and I think this is a gorgeous plant. Hope it thrives πŸ’š
@Gustavo wish we could get the choice to ask them why they are upset 🀭πŸͺ΄

I don't know if she will love me yet, I'm letting her acclimatise the next week or two, and then she and the misto are getting transferred to pon like all my others πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

My dream is to transfer all my plants to pon this year! β˜ΊοΈπŸ™
I'm hoping I can find time to get them all transferred πŸ˜…
It really does take time and patience to fiddle with roots and be gentle 🫠
