I’m new here! I just rec’d this rabbits foot fern from Hirt’s yesterday. It came in a cheap lil plastic container. Can anyone suggest what I need to put it into and any tips. The last I had one of these was when I lived in Florida 30 years ago and it was in a ball of moss and hung on the patio. I can’t do that here in PA. Thanx for any help.

Hi Brenda. I have one of these and I would say they are like many ferns—they like their soil moist but not wet, and bright light but no direct sunlight. You will definitely need to keep it indoors most of the year in PA. I grow mine under a growlight and it seems relatively happy. Just remember not to let it dry out—that is the most important thing with ferns. Hope this helps and happy growing! 🪴
