I plant, loving friends! I’ve had this #CornstalkDracaena #Dracaena for about 4 months and trying to figure out what’s causing brown leaves /tips and starting to see some yellow spots and cracks in some of the leaves as well. Do I need to water more or could this be a pest issue? #HappyPlants
Hi Stacey, I don’t have a Cornstalk but do have Dragon dracaena and I know you don’t water until 75% of the soil is dry. You can mist the leaves every few days to help with humidity. I have mine on my back porch (east facing) and it gets about an hour of first morning sun, then shade the rest of the day. No sun direct after noon as it can. scorch the leaves. You will have to look very closely to top and underside of leaves to see if there’s any pests- it’s hard to see in photos- especially your plant is full (and beautiful!) if you cut off the brown leaves- leave a tiny bit of brown so you don’t damage any healthy foliage.
@SillyPlantGirl thank you! I was thinking it might not be getting enough sun so yesterday I moved closer to window.
@IdealRosygarlic It may have been getting too much sun. They hate direct sunlight and turn brown where it touches their leaves. I would put it in a place with lower light than its first place.
I have a smaller one in front of an east facing window! Mine is happier by the window and watered once a week.
@Luvmyplantbaby thanks, about how far from the window? This was about 10 ft from windows and I moved it into a sunnier room a few days ago. Based on comments can’t tell if it’s too much or not enough sun 😊
