Hope everyone is having a good weekend, me and my boyfrie...
Hope everyone is having a good weekend, me and my boyfriend spent most of the day doing chores & running errands. We had to get a new tire after having a flat, go grocery shopping, & power washed the side walk and front porch. ๐
I did lots of plant chores; drilled a hole in my new pot, did some propagation trays, bottled my rain water for the plants, & took some pictures for Greg! Now to relax & make my daily post lol.
Hereโs some photos from today ๐ฑ

10โ pot with drainage
Last watered 1 month ago
@MariansOasis thank you! Yes very busy indeed, & thank you, used to have a hummingbird one but I lost it. Sorry I didnโt spell check beforehand lol.
@TidyTigerpear Those are gorgeous!! I think youโve got the magic touch with succulents and cacti!
@HappyPlantMama I use miracle grow succulent soil, with added perlite for drainage/grit. I use dynamite granular slow release fertilizer from Home Depot mixed in
@GrandeeRamshorn right ๐คฉ sheโs a big gal ! My secret is lots of light, rain water, and slow release fertilizer mixed in with a well draining soil!
@DailyDose_OfLee well draining soil, and lots of light depending on the succulentโฆ also your pot ALWAYS should have drainage and if you can put it in a teracotta/pourous pot it will thrive better then if not. Also a good rule of thumb is to underwater rather than to overwater, you can save it from a lack of water rather than overwatering.
@RefinedSandwort awe thank you! ๐ I hate to brag but I think you may be rightโฆ ๐คฃ๐ค
@TidyTigerpear thanks love!!! So def remove from nursery pot?
@DailyDose_OfLee you can remove from your pot whenever you are ready, but just make sure you have the things you need to give it a good chance to thrive after repotting, also donโt water it as soon as you repot it, give it about a day or three to adapt to its new home.
Example: well draining dirt, teracotta/pourous pot W/ drainage, and a good light source. South facing window would be could or if you have a shaded porch where it can get part sun part shade. Do you have a picture of your succulent? I might be able to help you better if I know what type it is. ๐ค

@DailyDose_OfLee thatโs okay, just donโt water it anymore until it is fully dry/ two weeks is a good rule of thumb/ or when the leaves are slightly wrinkly or less firm. Also thatโs a good pot for it, I have the same pot in small/medium & large and I love them! So cute
@TidyTigerpear wonderful! I will be sure not to water until dry. I found them at Walmart for $1.50 and literally said, who know I may need them one day. ๐ช๐พ๐ช๐พ
@DailyDose_OfLee @TidyTigerpear advice is great.
For the soil, I would recommend adding perlite to your succulent or cactus soil. The mix is 1 part soil, 2 parts perliteโฆwear a dust mask ๐ทwhenever working with Perlite, your lungs ๐ซ will thank you โค๏ธ
