Austem's first bloom: should I remove it?

Here I am bragging about my Best Friend, Austem again!!!

He’s flowering!!!!!!!

I’m so proud of him!! But I’ve been reading on it…Is it true I have to take that bloom out??? This is his first one! Do I really have to???!

@FlawlessCassava Just like I've seen Reddit comments on alocasia I don't necessarily think removing the flower won't do it any good it's just best to let it do its thing.
I love these plants so much. Sadly, once winter hits it gets a wee bit crowded inside… but I’m sure if I see around here for sale I’ll probably make room somehow 🤦‍♀️
