I got this Monstera as a gift from friends, and it’s my first time with a plant this large. She desperately needs to be repotted - the soil and the drainage needs to be better (I have practice with lots of philodendrons and I know they like chunky airy mix and this guy is similar) my question relates to trying to get her to grow a bit more upright and less to the side. In the nursery here they don’t support them and it’s evident with her going to the side under the weight I think. I’m trying to figure out if I should remove the pups on there and grow them separately and then try and turn the mother plant so she’s more straight and then obviously I’ll pole her. I have no idea what I’m doing and this girl is so big 🀣πŸ₯²

My monstera if about the same size and has been in the same pot for years now, they are very independent and hardly need water! It should be fine without transplanting but do what your instincts are telling you! Good luck! πŸ’š
@IvyPosh1320 I did pull it out a little to look at it, and the roots are spiralling and coming out of the top. I know it won’t need a big size difference cause they like to be snug, but I do for sure want it in a nursery pot for the drainage and not in some compacted soil. I’m so happy with how healthy she is though, I already see another new leaf on the brand new one that came out.
A moss pole works wonders keeping her in order and facing one way...you just have to train her she will so the rest!
@DaringColtsfoot I got a Bamboo stake because she needs some heavy lifting and I don’t want to have the moss tip over, I’m going to repot her this afternoon into better soil mix, a two inch bigger pot and then I’ll get her onto the pole
BTW, she's Beautiful
