#succulentsaturday 🌿

I cut some of my flowers off my Echeveria Blue Sky, & used this vase my grandma gave me to put them in.

*tip*- don’t use water if you want to cut them to display them, it will rot them & won’t last. They have lasted about a month or a little less, since I’ve cut them and had them inside. That’s a long time for cut flowers if you ask me.

Also wanted to brag on my VSOH, it’s so long & is doing so good! My boyfriend got me this for my first birthday we had together, so it’s a special plant! It even had a little string of all white hearts (photo 4) which is super cool.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far! πŸ’•

@TidyTigerpear Did you know that you could have planted the calloused flower stalk in cactus soil and it would grow roots and possibly even a new plant? Those flowers are really cute. The white leaves on the String of hearts πŸ₯°
Gorgeous! That string of hearts is a show stealer! Just look at those colors! I had my cactus flowers break off. One of my dogs just snapped it right off while playing. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I ended up just putting it in the soil of a nearby planter while I was cleaning up the mess. I completely forgot I put it in there, and then all of a sudden it was a new plant! 🀣
@Ms.Persnickety I actually didn’t know that! You learn something new everyday.
@Idplantthat that’s very cool! I didn’t know you could do that with the flowers! But it makes sense succulents just really can do some neat things !
@Idplantthat wow that’s awesome! Succulents really do some neat things! They have so many powers and they are really tough vigorous plants in my opinion. Last winter, I went through a really bad seasonal depression & didn’t water my succulents for about three or so months. When I tell you that I only lost one or two plants out of my whole 100+ piece plant collection, to underwatering. I couldn’t believe that they were able to withstand such a drought period. I mean I know succulents are pretty well known for that, and a lot of succulents origins are deserts or dry places with little to no rain. But I was so amazed at their ability to survive through my β€˜episode’ 🀣 and how quickly they were able to bounce back from etoliating & drying out completely. You wouldn’t even be able to tell about a year ago they were about on the brink of death! They just are small & mighty plants, that never cease to amaze me or teach me something new! They get a rap for being β€œhard” or β€œdifficult” but honestly I think if you know a little bit about them, they can be the most forgiving.
@TidyTigerpear that’s amazing! They love you for sure! Succulents for some people can be a heartache of difficulty, and for others it can be easier? I’m so sorry about your seasonal depression, that’s no joke! It’s a terrible thing to have to deal with, and I just find it so upsetting when people think it’s β€œcontrollable” you don’t have a choice. (I don’t believe many of us would ever pick depression as something to have.) You did a great job on bringing them back! Desert 🏜️ plants are so alien πŸ‘½ to me and I love it! πŸ₯° You’re an impressive grower and plant mom! Love πŸ’• reading the post and seeing your post!
@Idplantthat awe thank you, so sweet I love the plant community, it makes me happy that people enjoy my posts, πŸ€—
Love that string of hearts !! So pretty!
@TidyTigerpear I also love your posts! While they are very beautiful, succulent care just doesn’t β€œjive” with me, you know? But that’s ok, I have my fussy calatheas 😁 I think it’s great that there are so many different types of plants out there for different types of people.

That’s also AMAZING that you didn’t have many casualties! 😲 That kind of seasonal depression is quite familiar to me too, unfortunately. You have any human grow lights you can sit under? 😁
So pretty!!
@DreamMachine hahaha I totally get it and agree on the different plants for different people ! And ikr, lol they should’ve totally made some human grow lights by now πŸ˜«πŸ™„ all the things they have invented but no human grow lights ??? Wasted opportunity 🀣 thank you (:
@TotalShallot8 thank you (:
I wish I had the idea to put the flower stalks in a vase after I cut mine, that looks adorable! My blue frills stalk wat almost 3ft long but I plucked all the leaves off & forgot them in a dish, well now I have a million babies lol.
