Maximizing post reach with hashtags
Adding Hashtags
Lately Iβve frequently been suggesting that people add multiple hashtags to their posts. There have been so many that I thought it would be useful to add a post about it. If you want people to see your post you have to put it where they can easily find itοΏΌ.οΏΌ
Once you write a post, look towards the bottom left corner. There you will see four icons. The first lets you add your plantβs card to your post. The second lets you add up to five photos. (οΏΌ Please provide photos if youβre asking for help!) The third is to to tag specific people. Finally, youβll see the symbol for a hashtag.
Once you tap it, a list will come up showing a list of various, but not all, groups on Greg. The first 3 to 5 are the groups that are the largest in this default list, but there are many other large groups that are also terrific. Those will provide you with the best exposure for your post or your question. This is especially important when asking οΏΌa question.
You can find other groupsοΏΌ by adding a letter or a word after the hashtag as you type. The window will show what groups we have that include that letter or word. For example, if you have a post or a question about succulents, you might try #SucculentLove or #SucculentsSquad.
Many plant specific groups are there, too. οΏΌWe have #SnakePlant, #Echeveria, and #Monstera. There are MANY more.
There are also what Iβll call discussion groups. These include the groups #WhatTheSuccWednesday (sharing info, pictures and stories about our succulents) #GreggersSupportingGreggers (literally a support group for those having a rough time and those who are kind enough to listen) and #MonsteraMonday, obviously for Monstera lovers. All of these groups are open to anyone who wishes to join or just wants to lurk in the background.οΏΌ
Play around with it. Add random words or even one letter and explore. You can create a practice post. Just donβt send it. π Youβll find out a lot about Greg and plants and the friends you can make here. I hope this helps. Happy planting!οΏΌ

@TruthfulApricot Greg is a little different than other social media sites/apps at first, but once you figure it out it's awesome! Thanks to you and others for helping everyone have a great experience!
@jaysjungle Thanks! πππ I know itβs pretty elementary, but weβre not all tech savvy. I appreciate the compliment and glad to have my decision to post it supported.
