@Nila for the carnivorous plants, definitely don't ever let them dry out and use distilled water or rainwater only! Minerals in water can harm them. I have a couple pitcher plants and I put mine (in their pots) each in one of those big square kitchen jars you can get for like $5 from Walmart, on a layer of sphagnum moss on top of gravel. You can use any kind of vase, mini terrarium, jar etc to help with humidity. I've seen some people use a dome cover and then let it breathe a few hours every day. If you google "carnivorous plant terrarium DIY" there's a TON of cute ideas out there! I put mine in terracotta so it would absorb more moisture and I fill the jar with an inch or two of water anytime it looks fully absorbed (the soil inside the terracotta stays wet this way)
If you don't have a lot of bugs in the area, you can supplement with cheap fish flakes or bloodworms (also a kind of fish food in a cheap bottle) but try not to overfeed. There should be good estimates online based on your plant's size. For my sundew it was one flake a week crushed up....yep, just one teensy fish flake lol
Good luck! They're fun once you figure out how to keep them happy π

@nila I just did a little research on google and it said that venus fly traps love humid environments. Also, it said that it is βnotoriously hard to keep aliveβ due to the alkaline-dissolved solids in water, so the big thing is to use extra filtered or pure water.
@PleasantPothos @jcPlantProper Thank you! So I read the instructions that came with the plant and it said to fill the cup with water and put the plant in. So thatβs what I did. I used filtered water that was sitting out for over 6 hours (so hopefully close to distilled?). And I have it right by my window with my succulents.
@nila oh wow, it's gorgeous!!! The filtered water should be fine if the chlorine and fluorine are left to evaporate like you did!
If you notice it starting to dry out, might need a humidity booster like a pebble tray or a dome but I think you got the hang of it super quickly, looks great! π

Great haul. They all look so healthy and ready to grow for you @nila. Best of luck with your new babies.
@Stall54Jo Thank you! π
