Good FriYay morning to all at #brunchataudreys ⛅️! It’s gonna be cloudy all day here so I’m not sure how many of my 21 plants on schedule will really need it 💦 But they’ll all get a look 👀 and 😴 if necessary. So it doesn’t look like there a group for #WhatTheSuccWednesday and #FreshLeafFriday any longer so I’ll add in my $0.02 🪙 (😂 no penny emoji). Here are my 2 new additions - lithop and titanopsis for #WhatTheSuccWednesday and a recovering snake plant 🐍. Snake was being bottom watered & wasn’t drying out enough so borderline almost rootless 😮💨 I’m pretty sure it was caught in time 😅. For #FreshLeafFriday a new Silver Dragon 🐉 leaf 🍃😘. Last a sparrow feeding on one of ours BOP flowers 🥰🥰🥰. What’s happening in your oasis? Fun stuff? Challenges?? Happy Friday Friday 🙌🎉☺️

#brunchataudreys @MariansOasis Good Morning! 🌞 Showcasing my Hoya Publicalyx aka “Lola” who has sprouted a 🍃, since 2 weeks ago. But low and behold, to my amazement, she did it again. I didn’t even notice until, I started prying around for the “Fresh Friday! Go “Lola”! 🙌

@MariansOasis #brunchataudreys Good morning! Yay, I got this notification 🙌 It is an absolutely beautiful morning here, and for the first time in almost a year I will actually have the “real“ weekend off! My restaurant closes for a week every September so I am soaking up all the time off.
I also have a recovering 🐍 plant 😭 I’ve just come to the realization that since there’s a lot of natural moisture around me (PNW) that I need to be added more drainage amendements than recommended! Things always stay more wet here than usual. (Took me long enough to realize this lol) I hope yours makes a good recovery! I don’t know if mine will…But I did take some propagations🤞
Rearranging some plants, and already got most of my watering done. Then I’m going to bake some bread with my daughter and then I’ll make some lemon curd as a welcoming gift for a new neighbor! I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! 🌿🥰🫶

@SweetAzurebluet Wow Lola’s definitely on growth mode! She’s beautiful 🤩 I just noticed my new Hoya found her trellis, it was so cool to see the spiraling around it

@SweetAzurebluet I did! It’s technically a coated “clothesline wire” but it works great for trellises 😁
@SweetAzurebluet I’ve finally perfected my lemon curd, I could (and do) eat it straight from the jar 🙄 That reminds me, I’d better make a double batch or I’m going to be really mad later 😂
@DreamMachine do you have your own lemons 🍋? I’ve got a tree full of lemons 🍋 🍋 🍋 🍋 🍋. I’ve done lemonade and the occasional lemon bars 😋. Not sure I’m ready for making my own curd 🫣
@MariansOasis Ughh NO! That’s the only thing thing that would make it even better! I tried and failed on a lemon tree, but that was years ago, and I think I have more knowledge now to give it another chance. WELP, putting one more plant on my wish list LOL
@SweetAzurebluet This is the wire I found! Cheap and whole lotta it. For bread I make all kinds, but today we are making my daughter’s fav which is “French Countryside” bread, recipe from my cheap but good oster bread machine. Made it so many times I have it memorized! 😂 What kind of bread do you like?
@DreamMachine 🤦🏾♀️ Now I remember, I screenshot the photos, when you posted them before! Duh! 😂 I love Sourdough bread and Milk Batter Bread. I had a bread machine, and I brought a yeast starter and on the back was the recipe for Milk Batter Bread. It was my first time, making it and it came out perfect! I was so excited, and the aroma of fresh baked bread 🍞 is out of this world!

@SweetAzurebluet do you make your own sourdough? My daughter loves to make sourdough and has now done sourdough muffins, donuts… all kinds of sourdough things. Oh and recently did sourdough tortillas!

@MariansOasis Hi 👋 Happy Friday! Your Snake plant doesn't look bad at all! It's a good thing you realized that its pot was holding on to too much water before it was too late. That precious little bird looking at the Bird of Paradise all envious. Wishing he had all those amazing colors! 😍❤️ I love it!! Me and hubby are going to go to the Jazz Fest that's going on this weekend downtown and I'm currently waiting for the plants that I ordered on the 15th that got lost in the mail that will finally show up today. We'll get to see what a plant looks like after 11 days of no sun or water traveling through the US Postal Service. It's like a little experiment! 🤗 Lol While scrolling last night I found a wishlist plant!! It's a Stingray Alocasia! 💙 Have a great weekend everyone!!

@DreamMachine I am sorry that was years ago, when I made that bread recipe. I tried sometime to look it up, even went to the grocery store, to see if they had it on the back of the yeast starters packets! But no luck. That’s when I was living in New York

@MariansOasis I have a great recipe if you want it, for lemon curd. I do it unlike any other curd recipe I’ve ever found, and it was thanks to some lady’s comment on another recipe. I mix everything together first (like making a cake-cream sugar butter first etc) and then whisk and heat for less than 10min! Perfect curd every time
@SweetAzurebluet, Harriet, let me know if you are going to get a bread machine. My sister, my brother, even my mom all got the same one, and none of us knew until we all moved back around each other! But we all love it, and it mixes together for you and everything! I’m very gf, and it even makes gluten-free bread 🍞 😉🥰 but if you are interested let me know and I’ll send a picture of it.

Mom and baby snake 🐍 spa day. 2. My sad looking watch chain. Think I need to move him to a different spot. 3. Looks like I might be starting on bloom watch with my cha-cha aloe! Will be so glad when I can leave work this PM!

@Idplantthat I believe that one is a double 👍. BoPs are very sturdy. I wish I could post the video of this little guy bopping around each flower, probably getting some bugs covered in delicious nectar 😋 😆
@SweetAzurebluet I ordered 2. They both were lost in the mail for 11 days. They are the 2 yellow ones that look like they've been in a dark closet. Lol The one they sent to me that's in good shape is the green one in the back. The 2 yellow ones I'm not sure are salvageable.
@princesspitstop oh, okay! I think you should try and see. Maybe the color on it has just fade. But I think the Watch Chains will be okay. I am glad you have one . You and I have the same taste in plants Here is Baesil
@MariansOasis I have taste bread, that claimed to have sourdough in it, and it wasn’t true! I like my Sourdough Bread with tangy sourdough!

@RefinedSandwort Good Afternoon! 🌞 loving your 🐍 Plants, the Aloe and your Watch Chain. Are you giving your Watch Chain direct sun, fertilizer and is it in a succulent/cactus soil?
@princesspitstop Thanks much, my dear! Mine came from Greg! I plant it in cactus/succulent soil, direct sunlight for a few hours, monitor it because the sun can scorch it and the green will fade. I bottom water it plus I use fertilizer.
@SweetAzurebluet I got mine from Greg also! 😁 That's so funny that we have a lot of the same plants 💚 Seriously, I've looked at some videos of some Watch Chain online and the ones I've seen have nothing on yours!! It's STUNNING 🥰 I think I'll slowly introduce the ones that have been traveling in a dark box for the past 11 days to make sure I don't burn it accidentally and I'm thinking about putting them all in one pot. I have Succlent soil and some succulent fertilizer. I'll wait to fertilize until they start looking a bit better. I wouldn't want to stress them out more than they already have been. 😁🙌 Is it afternoon sun or morning Sun that you have it in?
@princesspitstop That’s a great idea. Maybe a terracotta planter will be nice. Definitely wait a while before you fertilize them. From my south window, the sun is at its brightest from 10:30-4:00 pm. I let my plants gather all the sun, during those hours, they can from that window! But I also close my blinds, so it’s more of a bright filtered sun
@SweetAzurebluet Got ya! Most of mine are in front of my South West sliding glass door. I've noticed that lately the Sun has been coming in rather harshly. I'm going to slide my blinds over and slightly close them too. Great idea!! Thanks Harriet!! Have a fantastic weekend!!
@princesspitstop That’s a great idea! The heat from the sun on your sliding glass doors is hot, have you ever felt heat on glass. That makes it even hotter for your plants. Glad to have help, you have a great weekend on purpose!
@SweetAzurebluet Yes, a lot of sourdough bread has no sourdough starter in it. You have to look for sourdough starter.

@SweetAzurebluet According to Greg, my watch chain was fertilized 2 months ago (used Miracle Gro Succulent Plant Food). It is in succulent/cactus soil with some additional perlite and Bonsai Jack’s gritty mix added in. I took it out of a pretty little glazed pot and moved it into terracotta when it wouldn’t dry out. I broke or lost some roots in the process. It is not in direct sunlight . I moved it farther away from a grow light because I thought that might be causing some of the dried out spots. I think it might be a combination of getting too dry and not being in its happy spot. Will look at moving him again.
@princesspitstop the fact that you spot it on the kitchen island where I unboxed it and that it is still in the plastic wrap is a clue to how much spare time I’ve had lately!!
@RefinedSandwort oh okay, I use WTW fertilizer, mine acclimated to direct sun, but I still have my blinds close just a little. So it get direct sunlight, but it’s filtered through my blinds. I don’t have mine in a terracotta planter, it’s in a plastic one. I never had it under a grow light. How is the sun in your south facing window?
@SweetAzurebluet I have southwest facing windows. I might put it back in a window sill instead of on the shelf below the window sill with the grow light on it.

@DreamMachine I'm going to do my best to see if I can get some color in them. I gave them a drink and put them under a grow light. We'll see 😁 I do love me a rescue! Probably because if I can't help it thrive I don't have to blame myself and if I do? Of course it was ALL me! 🤣
