I'm obsessed with her shop! This is the ONLY place that takes the best care of hoyas and you receive healthy hoyas. I wish I knew about her years ago, I'd have saved so much money and heartache.

@AwesomePlants @princesspitstop Heidi is the best!! You both crack me up. I haven’t gotten the Hoya bug (yet), but I definitely am right with you guys on the plant shopping. Late last night, insomnia shopping… blew my whole budget… damn pink Alocasia’s… get me suckering every time! 🤣 I’m such a sucker for a variegated plant. 🪴

@Idplantthat ok, when you do dip your toe into hoyas, buy from her. But be warned, once you see how healthy and established her hoyas are, you may end up #BlackoutPlantShopping . I stay away from her lives on #PalmStreet for that very reason, people go crazy on her lives and jack the prices up, so I stick with any purges she has and her website.

@princesspitstop my bad! 😞 I know I hate that word too… whoever invented this word definitely was a sadist 🤣 okay… maybe not that bad but pretty close j/k kinda … speaking of hoyas I gotta find where mine are in the greenhouse.. I know they are in there.. but what goes in doesn’t always get found till they grow out and begin growing on other things.. I’m terrible at this at times.
@AwesomePlants that’s all great, great advice! That’s the one thing that really sucks: when they get popular, the prices skyrocket. 🚀 I was looking at some prices of, I think, rare Alocasia’s. I dropped my jaw when I saw 8 thousand for a plant and then some insane orchid that sold for somewhere like 2 hundred thousand or something??? Mind blown 🤯 I’m sitting here going “ a plant that cost as much as a house I do not want; the stress of keeping that alive.. ha ha 🤣 no thank you! 🙂↔️
@Idplantthat By the way I also put plants in smaller pots on the soil of larger plants! Sometimes they look pretty there and I don't want to move it then I forget about it. Oops 😉

@AwesomePlants oh my gosh. I want to buy them all!! I just purged 8 plants due to the mealybug infestation of Nov 2025. Must have hitched a ride in on my last plant splurge. I’m fighting for my big jade/spider plant combo, but the rest, eh, I just tossed them out.

@Dawgfreak OMG! Palmstreet is not for the faint of heart! I've seen people spending thousands of dollars on a live and I'm like, uh oh, someone is going to have buyers remorse once they snap out of that blackout!

1. take up less space,
2. super easy to prop so buying cuttings is a great way to build a collection,
3. can be sunstressed,
4. bloom and most smell delicious when they do,

@AwesomePlants I didn’t buy the Hoyas, but they are gorgeous! WHAT’S EVERYONE’S favorite/most desirable Hoya?? I did see the red Hoyas and those are pretty freaking awesome. 👏🏻 I might have to get one.. and this is how it starts.. 🤦♀️ I bought a few wishlist Alocasias instead 🤭 I got a pink variegated azlanii, a mystic variegated Jacklyn, zebrina variegated, maharani variegated Aurea, and lastly a purple Albo regal shield.. 🤞🪴😅 my addiction is also bad.. as I realize as I’m trying to figure out where to put more plants 🌱 is maybe needing to take a hold.. I just want two more 🤣🤣🤣

With other plants you often see how big the new leaf is going to be. Like it’s a big unrolled (I mean rolled) scroll. But a hoya? Teeny TINY little smol mini baby leaves, every. single. time. 🤏🏼🥹

@AwesomePlants, you are definitely not alone. I ordered an anthurium radicans x luxurians once, then brainfarted and ordered it again. I was so annoyed. Most annoying thing? They BOTH eventually died. That's when I swore off anthuriums. 🤣😫🫣

@AwesomePlants, not yet. I did get an email telling me it shipped today, though. I think maybe they were being careful of the weather, too. I did order a heat pack, but I don't know how effective they can be.
I wish shops had black friday sales at end of summer so we could order without worry.

@AwesomePlants, I did get my Gabriella plants tonight. My hoya latifola "pot of gold" and a philodendron mayoi (trying again. They'll tide me over until my other order arrives. 😁

The mayoi is a fun plant to watch grow, it can grow wild though. I saw one grown as a hanging plant and loved it! I'm trying to go for the same effect, but also want to prop a piece to grow upright to try to get big leaves.

Once the plants settle for a week or so, check those roots. Gabriella is teetering on my hit list for "prop pots" (plants recently potted that don't have established roots, but are sold as established plants). You'll also want to add more chunk in that hoya mix. You'll see the mix difference when you get your Gardino hoya and be blown away!

@AwesomePlants, yes, I will say that I have gotten a couple "prop pots" from them. This one was a 3" pot. Roots looked ok. I do get good service when I complain, though. I moved both to different, similarly-sized pots with some chunkier mix and gave them a good drink of some warm water. Hopefully they will grow well.
@AwesomePlants, just got my new baby. She's so good-looking! Lots of leaves and even has a peduncle. She's bloomed before! Maybe she will again. Gabriella could definitely take note. So much more plant and in far better condition. I popped her into one of my dragon egg pots. She's gorgeous! Glad I was home to bring her out of the cold.
