@ThatsSoKristin don't you worry. They'll most likely be totally fine. Pothos are TOUGH!!

I have two plants that I started from stems - NO leaves at all. One of them looks pretty amazing, if I may say so myself.

Here's a cup of stems. (Second picture)

Third picture shows new growth.

Fourth and fifth pictures are of MORE stems with leaves that are starting. (:
Did you put it in a window or in direct sunlight?
@malobee direct sun 😞
@ThatsSoKristin looks like it got sun burnt to me! Move it to a shadier spot. Pothos (especially young leaves) like bright indirect light!
@malobee thank you so much I removed the leaves is that ok?
@ThatsSoKristin I would have left them on personally. Since this is a water propagation and will need to be planted in soil once there is root development, I am not sure if those stems will survive. :-/
Leave them in there and see what happens over the next few days. Change the water every couple of days, but I would let them alone for a bit to see what happens before doing anything else to the plant.
I appreciate you thank you so much I have no idea what I’m doing
@malobee feel like I just ruined it.I kept reading online to remove any brown leaves so I just cut them off πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ
Kristin, everyone has to start somewhere. We weren't born with all this knowledge, we learned it. πŸ–€ Look up Planterina on YouTube she has TONS of videos on pothos care. That's where I learned most of what I know about plants. (:
@ThatsSoKristin so not all causes of browning in leaves is the same, and it will be different depending on where your plant is along in the process. It is okay! This is how we learn! In this instance, you see how in your photo the leaves are still shiny but look like they have a little sunburn? The leaf is healthy, just a bit scorched like our skin can get with too much sun! Sometimes they recover, sometimes not. I find that in all things plants it is better to watch and see than to rush at all. Now with this guy, he may not survive, but he also might do great! The only way to know is to keep a close eye and let him be. Give him what he requires to survive and maybe he will perk back up!
To me it looks like there might be multiple cuttings in that vase, but can't really tell. I think since he still has some leaves left he'll be fine. I've even grown pothos from bare stems before! Just do like Malorie said and keep the water fresh and I think it'll pull through. And in the future if you want/need to remove a leaf, do so next to the vine. (:
@WickedValkyrie thank you πŸ™πŸ½
@malobee you are absolutely right thank you sooo much
Any time. Feel free to tag me if you ever have any questions. Always happy to help! (:
@ThatsSoKristin no problem! Good luck! I am rooting for you!
@WickedValkyrie ooooh I see what you mean!! And yes there are multiple cuttings in there.I took your advice and cut the pieces down to the vine.Do you think my babies will be ok ?
Try to keep all the leaves above the water line to avoid possible rot, keep the water fresh, with adequate lighting and yes I think they'll be alright. πŸ–€
And if all else fails and they end up dying, armed with your newfound knowledge I'm sure your friend will gladly give you some more cuttings to try again. πŸ–€
@WickedValkyrie thank you! I’m just sitting here clutching the glass and I whispered to it β€œI’m so sorry about what happened to your friends but I’m here if you need meβ€πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@WickedValkyrie I love Amanda! She's so funny!
@ThatsSoKristin πŸ˜‚ I always apologize when I prune/prop my plants... I know it doesn't hurt them, but I still feel bad. πŸ˜†
@sarahsalith yesss! Her absent minded chaos is such a mood! I want to be her friend. Just drink a bunch of wine and play with plants while we forget what we were talking about and what words even are πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@sarahsalith Ooohhhh chonky stems 😻 (Also, sorry I totally forgot you're sober and wasn't thinking. Hopefully that sorta talk isn't a trigger for you. πŸ–€)
@WickedValkyrie pffft. I'm too old to get triggered. 🀣 My girls walk around and they are as fragile as hand-blown glass ... I'm more like rusty iron.
@sarahsalith πŸ˜‚ but doesn't rust weaken metal? πŸ–€
You're so sweet to say something though, @WickedValkyrie - truly, no harm done. I'm totally cool with my sobriety.
@WickedValkyrie eh, it also gives it character. I've got my flaws. πŸ˜‰
@sarahsalith πŸ™‚βœŒοΈπŸ–€
@sarahsalith ok this gives me some hope for my babies!!!πŸŒ±πŸ’š
@sarahsalith even the stems look healthy 😍😍😍😍
