I was curious about your plant so I just looked it up. It's a perennial so it's natural for it to go dormant during cold weather and then grow again in the warmer seasons. The flowers of this type of plant are pretty!
Italian Leather flower?! Iβve never heard clematis called that π€ͺ. Learn something new everyday on this app! Anyway yes, clematis will look dead and then come back to life. I have one outside that repeatedly does this. In fact this year my gardener threw fresh topsoil all over the garden, unknowingly burying her. It was a few days before I noticed π. I thought for sure she was a goner after her leaves were underground and potentially burned by the new topsoil. Nope πββοΈ. Sheβs back! Iβd pick off all those dead leaves. And you could trim back any leggy vines with few or no leaves and propagate to get more Delilahβs! π€ͺ. Hereβs a link on clematis including propagation. pruning" target="_blank">https://www.thespruce.com/clematis-care-guide-7506832#toc-pruning
