Arrrggghhhh! Dang fungus gnats got my Turts 😒😒. I had brought him inside and put him in a dome to catch some humidity, hoping he would flourish and plump up. I misted him every couple of days but he started looking smaller. Found the buggers today.
2ft to light, direct
4” pot with drainage

Dang!! I hate those things! πŸ˜• My pothos is like getting eaten alive…. but I heard that adding rocks on top of the soil helps! I’ll probably be trying that soon
I think you’re giving it way to much water. They do not need so much humidity and the gnats thrive on it. The best way to keep them away is to dry them out. With the misting, and the dome, it might also have root rot.
@calvina I really wasn't watering it, just misting. But I realized that pot was way too big for its tiny roots (I ended up repotting it).
I dumped the soil and cleaned whatever was left on the roots with peroxide and stuck it in fresh clean dirt. Hopefully it makes it.
It was a case of 'oh I saw this on YouTube, let me try it!' Ughhhhh. I should have just stuck to what was working for me.
@fabiana I've actually been watering my plants with mosquito dunks 'tea'. But since I was really only misting Turts, he wasn't getting the tea.. so they really hit him hard. There were so many moving around in the soil I almost flung the entire pot across the room 😬
Gave me the heebie jeebies.. I'm still itchy.
