Some evening sunshine for this group!
My two from mountain crest have been looking good (the perle von and the jellybean)
The other two are my rehabilitation babies from a sick and neglected golden sedum and my original baby toes I ordered that arrived beyond damaged. However, those two are good reasons why you shouldnโt give up immediately on the plant. Sometimes they can make incredible turn arounds. I didnโt expect to see new toes popping up and then having a little mini sedum garden lol.

@OrangeGrass I kinda of just throw them in whatever I have mixed currently, so it depends because sometimes Iโll have more dirt left over than perlite or more perlite than dirt and I donโt feel like grabbing my bags to mix something for the tiny propsโฆ but for the most part yes! I figure Iโd let them grow up in a similar soil environment to what theyโll already be in later.
Only difference is I try to keep the props in more shallow makeshift pots, but for these guys I just stuck them in 2in pots and will be careful to only water around the prop itself.

@itsjordan That makes sense. Iโm new to succulents/cacti. I didnโt have any soil for them either when I got a random cactus leaf. What worked for me was to leave it in my lucky bamboo pot ๐ I checked out it after two weeks, and it was growing roots. I moved it to its own 2 inch pot now, but lol I canโt believe they grow on anything. Iโm not sure about watering. Do I water the entire pot or just the top? Humidity also seems to help because a random prop I got was not growing much till I gave it more humidity. I also killed a bunch of leaves by getting water on them ๐
Iโm new, and itโs been a learning process! But, I do have four propagations going on atm the cactus included! Sorry, Iโm rambling. I get excited when I see other peopleโs beautiful, well-cared for plants ๐ชด๐
@OrangeGrass I suppose it depends, I personally donโt water props if theyโre still attached to their mother leaf, but then afterwards when it is only the baby left, Iโm very careful to only water around the baby since their roots are really small and delicate. The whole pot doesnโt need water when I know the roots are very little, yknow?
Iโve had the most success with props just kinda neglecting them in a very sunny warm window! However, my props have done both a window and grow lights, soโฆ
I actually started my succulent journey by propagating as well because I received a very poorly cared for pachyveria lol and basically itโฆ gave upโฆ quicklyโฆ and anyway I started to prop the leaves after watching a video, and to my surprise I did have two successes that are still goin good today!! Theyโre currently being grown in a very rocky/perlite mix. Iโll show a picture of them, now donโt let their little bitty size fool you lol they over a year oldโฆ theyโve just been very slow growers, but I donโt judge themโ Iโm just happy they survived me learning how to care for them ๐๐

@itsjordan Tysm, Iโll check them out. Iโm still learning how to propagate them. I didnโt realize that they need a lot of light for them to start growing roots. Because the days have been shorter and colder/cloudy, they were not doing anything when I kept them on a bookshelf, lol. After I moved them to get some light from one of the grow lights, they started growing roots. Oh wow, your itty bitty looks great! Thatโs such a pretty colorโone of my favorite colors ๐
